- Alligator hunting is by drawn permit only.
- Each permit authorizes the harvest of one alligator, which must be at least 4 feet long.
- Successful applicants must attend a mandatory hunter orientation.
- Alligators must be snared or harpooned and subdued using a hand-held snare or harpoon with a hand-held restraining line before dispatching.
- Once subdued, an alligator must be dispatched using only a shotgun or shotgun shell-loaded bangstick using shot no larger than no. 4 common shot.
- Alligators must be tagged with a Temporary Alligator Possession Tag immediately and transported to an official check station within 12 hours of harvest.

On these days, youths 15 and younger may harvest ducks, geese, coots and mergansers. Youths who have completed a hunter education course must be accompanied by a mentor who is 18 or older. Youths who have not completed a hunter education course must be accompanied by a mentor who is 21 or older. Mentors may not hunt ducks, geese, mergansers or coots, but may call waterfowl and may (if properly licensed) hunt other game in season. Youth hunters can hunt on wildlife management areas 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset these two days. |

Duck daily bag limit: 6 ducks
Limit may include no more than 4mallards (no more than 2 of which may be hens), 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 1 black duck, 3 scaup, 2 pintails, 2 canvasbacks and 1 mottled duck. Duck and teal species not listed have no extra restriction beyond the 6-duck total bag limit.
Duck possession limit: 3 times the daily bag limit
Coot daily bag limit: 15
Coot possession limit: 45
Merganser daily bag limit: 5 mergansers.
Limit may include no more than 2 hooded mergansers.
Merganser possession limit: 3 times the daily bag limit. |
